The course catalog lists ENGL 300 as:
Writing in the Professions (3). Emphasis on transactional writing – writing to get things done. Focuses on purpose, audience analysis, and writing as problem solving, but also includes work in organization and editing. Prerequisite: ENGL 111 and 212 or other General Education Category 10 course.
